Live on an island off Ireland? Check your polling dates here

Polling dates for western islands from Sherkin to Tory Island have been released, along with the number of registered electors on each.

THE DEPARTMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENT, Heritage and Local Government has released its list of polling dates for over 2,500 people living on the islands along the west coast of Ireland.

The figures in brackets below indicate the number of people included on the official Register of Electors as of 1 February, 2011.

Note that the supplement to the Register has not been included in these figures.

23 February

Donegal South-West: Arranmore (523), Gola (25), Inishboffin (67), Inishfree (9), Tory Island (136)

Mayo: Clare Island (115), Inishbiggle (29), Inishturk (50)

24 February

Galway West: the three Aran Islands (989), Inishboffin (166) (NOTE: this date is under weather review and voting will go ahead as scheduled, weather permitting)

25 February

Cork South-West: Bear Island (179), Clear Island (122), Dursey Island (9), Hare Island (29), Whiddy Island (14), Long Island (11), Sherkin Island (102)
