AT LEAST ONE person will not suffer from any January blues this year with the news that yesterday’s €8.2 million Lotto jackpot had just one winner.

The National Lottery have confirmed that there was only winning ticket and that it was sold in the east of the country.

Staff at Tesco in Whitegates centre in Wicklow Town told TheJournal.ie that the winning ticket was sold in their store but could not pin down who the lucky winner was.

Staff were informed this morning by the National Lottery that the winning ticket was sold in their store but had no further information on when the ticket was bought or indeed who bought it.

In yesterday’s draw 36 other tickets had five out the six numbers required to win the top prize while one ticket had five numbers and the bonus number.

Yesterday’s bumper jackpot came after there was no winner to New Year’s Day’s €7.5 million draw.

The winning numbers were: 4-25-35-38-42-43 with a bonus number of  28.
