Love/Hate to air on American online video service HULU

RTÉ has announced that the hit drama will be now available to audiences in the United States.

THE HIT RTÉ drama Love/Hate is to gain a whole new audience in America as the State broadcaster announced this evening that HULU has gained the rights to the first two series.

The US online video streaming service, which has over 1.5 million subscribers, has acquired the rights to series one and two of the popular crime drama which is averaging audiences of over 720,000 every Sunday night.

Other popular dramas hosted on HULU include The WireHomelandGrey’s Anatomy and Downtown Abbey while this deal will bring Love/Hate to audiences in the US having already been broadcast in Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East.

RTÉ has said that Australia and South Korea have confirmed purchase of the third series which is produced by Octagon Films. The distribution deal is through ITV Global Entertainment.

Written and created by Stuart Carolan, the cast, who are fast becoming household names, includes Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Robert Sheehan, Peter Coonan, Charlie Murphy, Aoibhinn McGinnity and Jason Barry.
