Man arrested after being found with .5kg of cocaine

The 54-year-old was arrested in Cork on Monday following an intelligence-led investigation.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in his 50s after he was found in possession of cocaine with an estimated street value of €17,500.

Gardaí and officers from Revenue’s Customs Service carried out an intelligence-led investigation in Cork on Monday which led to the arrest of the 54-year-old after he was found in possession of .5kg of cocaine at Castle McCarthy in Churchtown.

The man was held for questioning at Mallow Garda Station before being released.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
