Man arrested after €300,000 worth of cannabis seized during Dublin search

The seizure was part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks.

A MAN IN his late 20s has been arrested after gardaí seized around €300,000 worth of cannabis during a search operation in southeast Dublin yesterday.

During a planned search of a residence in the Dundrum area, cannabis herb worth around €300,000, divided into vacuum-sealed packages, was discovered, alongside €2,000 in cash.

The man in his late 20s who was arrested in connection with the seizure is currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.

Speaking following the seizure, Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary said the “large seizure of illicit drugs is a further example of the ongoing efforts of An Garda Síochána to target and arrest those in our communities who are involved in criminal activity”.

The seizure was part of Operation Tara, which aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing into the seizure.
