A MAN HAS been arrested and is being questioned over a crash in Louth that resulted in the deaths of three women.

Margaret McGonigle, her daughter Mairead Mundy and friend Rachael Battles from Bruckless in Donegal were killed in the crash on 21 July.

They had been driving home from Dublin Airport after a holiday.

Speaking at the joint funeral of the mother and daughter Father Sweeney said the tragedy devastated the community and that a sense of shock had permeated the parish and the entire country.

The man in his early 30s was arrested this morning in connection with the collision and is currently being held at Carrickmacross Garda station in Monaghan.
