A MAN IN his 40s has died following a weather-related incident at a property in Letterkenny, Co Donegal this afternoon.

Emergency services attended the scene at around 4.15pm, while a Status Red wind warning was still in effect for Co Donegal.

The man’s body was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for a post mortem.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner, gardaí have confirmed.

A garda spokesperson said that the incident is linked to the extreme weather caused by Storm Amy, and is urging the public to heed ongoing warnings.

Storm Amy is still causing widespread disruption across Ireland, with gale-force winds and heavy rain leading to fallen trees, flooding, and power outages affecting more than 180,000 homes, businesses, and farms.

Status Orange wind warnings remain in place until 10pm for Donegal, Clare, and all of Connacht, with more strong winds and heavy rain expected.

Status Yellow warnings for wind and rain extend across much of the country into Saturday, with residents advised to exercise caution on roads and avoid unnecessary travel.
