Man due in court over death of 37-year-old woman in Dublin

The body of the woman was found at a house on Upper Sherrard Street in Dublin on Saturday.

A MAN WILL appear in court this morning charged in connection with the death of a woman in Dublin city on Saturday.

The 44-year-old, who was arrested in Dublin city yesterday afternoon, will be brought before the Criminal Court of Justice at 10.30am.

Gardaí had been called to a home on Upper Sherrard Street off Gardiner Street in Dublin’s city centre on Saturday morning after receiving reports about an injured woman.

The 37-year-old woman was brought to the nearby Mater Hospital where she subsequently died.  A post mortem was carried out on the woman’s body.

The man had been detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
