A MAN HAS been hospitalised after an alleged shooting at a farm in north Dublin yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred at a farm house in Kilsallaghan in Swords, north Dublin at around 3.30pm yesterday afternoon when a family member of the farm owner returned to the house and discovered it had been the subject of a burglary.

A silver Lexus car was then noticed attempting to go across a field before it became stuck. The family member exchanged words with the driver before a BMW arrived on the scene and the Lexus driver got in and the car took off.

Later a man was hospitalised at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth.

It is not clear who among the three involved in the incident was hospitalised nor the circumstances of the confrontation between the men in the field.

Gardaí say they are investigating and that there have been no arrests at this stage.
