Man killed in three car pile up in Monaghan

The man in his 30s became the second person killed on Irish roads today.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a fatal road traffic collision on the N2 in Monaghan that left a man in his 30s dead.

The crash occured at Cornmucklagh, Broomfield, Castleblaney, shortly after 11am this morning.

The man in his 30s was fatally injured following a three car collision.

This is the second fatal traffic collision today and gardaí are asking motorists to be particularly careful in what are challenging driving conditions.

“Please slow down, use dipped headlights and leave a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front,” said a spokesperson.
