Donegal man who died in weather-related incident during Storm Amy is named locally

Tommy Connors, who was aged in his 40s, was from Letterkenny.

A MAN WHO died following a ‘weather-related’ incident in Co Donegal yesterday has been named locally as Tommy Connors. 

Mr Connors was in his 40s and from Letterkenny. It is understood he died after a fall from a shed roof.

The tragedy happened at around 4.15pm yesterday afternoon during Storm Amy.

It is understood that Mr Connors died at the scene of the incident at a domestic dwelling house.

His body was removed to the morgue at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Gardaí are continuing to carry out enquiries and said the results of the post mortem will determine the course of those enquiries.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner, a spokesperson added.

Tributes are being paid across social media for the late Mr Connors, who was well-known in the Letterkenny area.
