Mayo girls, aged 10 and 6, hospitalised after road accident
Two girls are being treated in Castlebar General Hospital after being struck by a car on the N59 at Mulranny village.
A SIX-YEAR-OLD GIRL has been seriously injured, and a ten-year-old girl hospitalised, after a road accident in County Mayo this morning.
The girls were struck by car while out on the main N59 Mayo to Sligo road just outside the village of Mulranny, around a half-hour’s drive north west of Westport, at 11:10am this morning.
Both girls have been taken to Castlebar General Hospital, where the younger child is described as being in a serious condition.
The road has been closed pending a forensic collision examination. Gardaí in the Westport station are overseeing the investigation.
