TWO IRISH MAN aged 24 have died in incidents in Spain and Australia.
Mark Ferguson from Rathkip in Ballina in Co. Mayo died after a fall from a balcony in Barcelona in the early hours of Monday morning. It’s understood he was in the city for the Primavera music festival which took place at the weekend.
A post mortem was due to be carried out in Barcelona yesterday.
Meanwhile 24-year-old Tomás Maguire from Ardara in Co. Donegal was killed when the vehicle he was driving crashed 200km south of Perth on Monday.
The Irish Echo, Australia’s Irish Newspaper, reports that Mr Maguire had been travelling to work at a local farm in Wickepin in the early hours of the morning when his pick-up truck rolled over. The vehicle was found five hours later by a passer-by.
He had emigrated from Donegal to Australia in February.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has told TheJournal.ie that it is providing consular assistance to the families of both men.
