RAPPER SNOOP DOGG has unveiled a new digital venture that he wants to be the ‘cultural hub’ of the growing worldwide demand for cannabis.

Revealing ‘Merry Jane’ with an uber corporate looking promotional video at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, Snoop Dogg says the new website aims to be a “crossroads of pot culture, business, politics and health.”

Snoop Dogg narrates the video and notes that, with cannabis being legalised in a growing number of states, it is fastest growing industry in the United States and is estimated to be worth $11 billion per year by 2019.

Allied to that, he says that cannabis culture has entered the mainstream and that cannabis consumers need somewhere to go to find out about the latest trends and fashions.

The site will have editorial content under five headings, culture, news, food, style and video. Snoop says that it will be central to the “new era of cannabis as part of our daily lives”:

Every cultural obsessions requires a culture hub, a place for people of cultural lifestyles and interests to unite. ESPN is sports, Vogue is fashion, Rolling Stone is music and today Merry Jane is cannabis. Merry Jane is cannabis 2.0.

Snoop also explained that there will also be a business side to the site, connecting legal cannabis producing businesses with consumers.

The platform launches next month with Snoop joking that it’s currently in beta-testing with 420 users a day. Always on message.
