Met Éireann have issued an epic rainfall warning...

Pretty much everywhere, it’s going be wet.

IT’S GOING TO start raining at lunchtime today, and it’s not going to stop all weekend.

Met Éireann probably describe the state of affairs a little better in their official ‘yellow alert’ warning — but, essentially, that’s what we can expect.

According to the weather service:

“Some intense rainfall will occur at times from Friday through to Sunday night.

Southern and western counties, especially the coastal and mountainous areas, will get intense rainfall at times over short periods.

“Overall rainfall through the period could range from 60 to 90mm in these southern and western coastal counties.”

The warning covers southern and western coastal counties, and lasts from midday today until Sunday night.

If you don’t live in the affected areas, the folks in Glasnevin aren’t offering much respite, we’re afraid.

Wet and windy weather will affect “all parts” of the country tonight.

And we can all expect “heavy thundery showers” tomorrow.

To paraphrase Jeremy Paxman —  It’s October… what do you expect?
