A 29-YEAR-OLD man has appeared at the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ) this morning charged with the murder of Michael Barr in late April.

Eamonn Cumberton, of Mountjoy Street, Dublin 1,  gave no reply when the charges were put to him this morning.

He was granted free legal aid and remanded to appear before Cloverhill District Court next Friday, 3 June.

Cumberton was initially arrested last Friday, and has since been detained at the Bridewell Garda Station.

Barr, a 34-year-old originally from Tyrone, was gunned down on the evening of 25 April at the Sunset House pub in Summerhill in Dublin’s north inner city.

He was suspected of being a senior figure in the dissident republican movement.
