THERE HAVE BEEN calls for Irish government ministers to boycott the St Patrick’s Day parade in New York City over its treatment of gay groups.

NYC mayor Bill de Blasio has said he will not take part in the parade this year because of tensions with gay groups who have been told they can’t hold gay pride signs.

Minister Joan Burton has already said she will not take part in the parade if she is invited, and two gay groups have called on other ministers to follow suit.

What do you think: Should Ministers take part in the NYC Patrick’s Day parade?

Poll Results:

No, they should take a stand and not attend (1994)
Yes, if they're invited they should take part (762)
