Search for missing woman stood down following discovery of human remains

THE SEARCH FOR a woman missing from Dublin has been stood down following the discovery of human remains. 

Elizabeth Redmond had been missing from her home in Artane, Dublin 5, since Sunday, 12 December.

In a statement today, gardaí confirmed that following the discovery of human remains on Lambay Island on Thursday, 27 January, being positively identified through DNA analysis, the media appeal in respect of Elizabeth has been stood down. 

Gardaí thanked the media and the public for their assistance in the matter.
