JUST FOUR DAYS after Dublin’s pretty girl Molly Malone returned to the city centre she became the victim of vandals.

Dublin City Business Improvement District today tweeted a picture of the grafitti, which is scrawled over a particularly prominent part of Molly’s body.

They said the graffitti was spotted by staff today and has already been reported to the relevant people so she can be cleaned up.

A spokesperson for Dublin City Council told this afternoon that the graffiti has now been removed and Molly’s cleavage is back to its former glory.

The statue made a comeback on Friday afternoon, with Tourism Minister Paschal Donohoe unveiling Molly, who had been given a good polish since she was removed from her previous location at the bottom of Grafton Street.

A spokesperson from his Department said today:

It is very disappointing to see the vandalism to Molly Malone which is popular with tourists and Dubliners alike, particularly after it was so beautifully restored as part of its recent move.

If we’re not careful, she’ll leave us again.
