Monaghan gardaí recover ATM stolen from Newry supermarket
One man was arrested and a manhunt is now on to track down two others.

GARDAÍ IN MONAGHAN today recovered an ATM which had been stolen from a supermarket in Newry, county Down.

The ATM was stolen overnight and detectives in Drumass came across a white transit van with three men nearby. The men fled on foot, leaving the van behind. One, aged in his 20s, was arrested near the scene and is now in garda custody.
Inside the van, gardaí found an ATM. A forensic examination of the van and its contents is under way.

The search for the other two men is continuing, with the assistance of a number of other garda units.
Gardaí said the van was uncovered by gardaí who were patrolling under the new Operation Thor, which is targeting the country’s most prolific burglars.
