THERE ARE EIGHT NATO warships in the Irish sea right now, between Dublin and Wales.

But why?

We contacted the Defence Forces, who said the Naval Service report that all international vessels like this would have what’s called a “right of innocent passage” when they’re moving from point A to point B.

This is a law of the sea that means:

Passage is innocent so long as it is not prejudicial to the peace, good order or security of the coastal State. Such passage shall take place in conformity with this Convention and with other rules of international law.

So no need to panic. But if you want to track their movement, and see where they end up, visit marinetraffic.com.
