One person with diabetes goes blind each week in Ireland - Diabetes Action

The advocacy group has called for the National Retinopathy Screening Programme to be rolled out soon – saying that Diabetic Retinopathy is one of the leading causes of adult blindness in Ireland.

Bowel cancer screening delayed until next year

The programme was due to be rolled out nationally in January 2012. However, the National Cancer Screening Service said it has not reached “quality assurance standards” yet.
