Man and woman arrested after 3-year-old girl died after being thrown from trampoline

A MAN AND a woman have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after a three-year-old girl died after being thrown from an inflatable trampoline.

Ava-May Littleboy died in hospital after the incident at the beach in Gorleston-on-Sea. It happened in Gorleston in Norfolk on Sunday 1 July at around 11.15am.


The pair, both aged in their 40s, and from the Great Yarmouth area have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently being held at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

A post-mortem examination found that Ava-May died of a head injury.

A joint investigation is being carried out between the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), local authority and police.

In a statement issued through police, Ava May’s family said, “She was not your ordinary little girl, as anyone she met she would leave a lasting impression on.

“Anyone that met her would not want to forget her. Her infectious laugh and smile could light up even the darkest of rooms.”
