Northern Irish woman secures Facebook injunction over sex video

Case is being hailed as the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.

A WOMAN in Northern Ireland has secured an injunction to prevent her former partner posting a sex video of the couple on Facebook.

This is understood to be the first time Facebook Ltd has been named as a defendant in a Northern Irish case.

UTV reports that the court heard that the woman’s ex was also threatening to send the video to the school where she works as a classroom assistant.

Her lawyer argued that the video could go viral before being removed by the site’s administrators. The woman claims she was filmed without her consent.

The injunction prohibits the man involved from uploading the footage to any website, showing it or distributing it, the BBC reports.
