Two released over Limerick shooting
Updated: 12.50am
TWO PEOPLE being questioned in relation to a double murder in Limerick last week have been released from garda custody without charge.
Earlier today, a 25-year-old woman was released after being questioned by gardaí in connection with the murder; shortly afterwards a man was released.
They had been two of eight people arrested in connection with the murder of Breda Waters, 28, and Des Kelly, 23, in O’Malley Park in Limerick, whose bodies were found on Sunday 9 January.
A post mortem examination confirmed that both victims had died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
It is believed that Kelly, who had criminal record for offences including violent assault and dangerous driving causing death, was the intended target of the attack. He had recently began to date Waters, a mother of three.

Kelly’s sister found the bodies after hearing gunshots. She had been staying in the house with her six-month old baby.
Five people now remain in garda custody.
