Overnight explosion on north Dublin street

A witness said the explosion woke up the whole neighbourhood.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING an explosion in Drumcondra, north Dublin overnight which damaged a 4×4 car parked on the street.

There were no injuries after the explosion on Holy Cross Avenue, off Clonliffe Road at around 1.30am this morning.

A 2006 registration Range Rover was damaged. A witness said that the 4×4 vehicle belonged to a resident of Clonliffe Road which is near Croke Park stadium.

The witness added that the explosion woke up the whole neighbourhood.

An army bomb disposal team attended the scene, RTÉ reports, and Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
