Man hospitalised following paramilitary-style shooting in Belfast

A 21-YEAR old man was hospitalised after being shot in both legs in what has been described as a “paramilitary-style shooting”.

Police said the man was shot at around 10pm and he was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective inspector Mark McHaffie appealed to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who has information to contact detectives at reactive and organised crime at Musgrave PSNI station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1178 06/01/17.

He said: “If someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
