Memo to Pat: No effing and blinding

A Newstalk listener has hand-delivered a note to Pat Kenny’s new employers castigating “certain” presenters for their use of language. George Hook, however, is purer than pure.

ONLY GEORGE HOOK, lunchtime news host Jonathan Healy and ‘the history presenter’* escape unscathed from a battery of criticism delivered by a Newstalk listener.

This apparently hastily-written note criticising presenters for their use of bad language was hand-delivered to the commercial broadcaster, Healy said on Twitter.

The worst offending programme slots are listed, although no-one is specifically named and shamed.

Veteran host Hook, however, is singled out for glowing praise. The listener writes that “George Hook does not allow ‘bad language’ on his programme as I heard him apologise for one of his guests”.

Pat, consider yourself warned.

*Patrick Geoghegan, of course. He’s a lecturer at Trinity – we wouldn’t expect any less.
