Paul Schutz resigns as Aer Arann CEO

PAUL SCHUTZ HAS resigned as the head of Aer Arann.

A spokesperson for the airline told TheJournal.ie that he is leaving the company “amicably and for personal reasons”.

He will remain involved at Aer Arann for “a short time” to facilitate the changeover.

Board member Seán Brogan has been named as the interim CEO of the airline.

“He has been working closely with Paul and management over the past year,” the spokeswoman said.

Schutz took over as CEO on 1 January 2009 but has been with the airline since 2006. He previously worked at Ryanair, British Airways, Eirjet and Virgin Express.

Aer Arann suspended some of its flight routes for this winter season, leading to staff cuts at Galway Airport.
