STAFF WERE THREATENED at knifepoint during a robbery at a petrol station in Wicklow yesterday evening.

The incident took place on the Dublin Road in Arklow at around 5pm.

Gardaí say a masked man entered the station with a knife, and began threatening staff and demanding cash. He then fled the area.

A man in his 20s was arrested soon afterwards. He was detained at Arklow Garda Station, and released from custody last night.

All cash was recovered. A file will be prepared for the DPP.
