Photos: Harry and Meghan arrive in Dublin for their first official visit to Ireland
THE DUKE AND Duchess of Sussex have arrived in Ireland for a two-day visit to Ireland and will attend a reception tonight at Glencairn House – the official residence of the British Ambassador to Ireland.
Guests at the reception this evening include well-known faces across a broad spectrum of areas including politicians, sports stars, fashion designers, actors, poets and campaigners.
Olympic sailor Annalise Murphy, jockey Ruby Walsh, Irish female rugby referee Joy Neville and former rugby player Brian O’Driscoll are among the sports stars present.
A number of politicians attended including leader of Sinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald, former Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Tanaiste Simon Coveney and his brother Greencore CEO Patrick Coveney.
CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan is also at the reception alongside actor Barry Keoghan, TV presenter Lucy Kennedy, comedian Aisling Bea and fashion designer Orla Kiely.
The royal couple arrived this afternoon at Dublin airport for their first foreign trip together since getting married.
The couple then travelled to Government Buildings where they were welcomed by the Taoiseach.
They have a packed itinerary tomorrow which includes a visit to meet President Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin, followed by a walk around Trinity College where they will stop by the Book of Kells.
