THE THUNDER STORMS that hit Dublin today were described as “intense” by Dublin City Council – and they left much flash flooding in their wake.

These photos from our readers show the extent of the rising waters in the city, which disrupted traffic during the busy rush-hour period.

Within an hour, some of the water had begun to recede. Dublin City Council mobilised its drainage crews and Dublin Fire Brigade crews, and said it will monitor the drainage network, including rivers and streams, throughout the evening.
