TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL Day Against Racism and to raise awareness of the issue and protect the safety of customers and staff, Dublin’s main transport providers are carrying the message “Dublin’s Transport Links – Racism Divides”.
In a bid to stamp out racism, the chief executive of the Immigrant Council of Ireland, Denise Charlton, is urging people to report racist incidents. She said “complacency is one of the greatest barriers we must overcome in terms of racism” but that victims and witnesses had been reluctant to come forward in the past for fear that their complaint would not be taken seriously.
Have your ever experienced racist abuse or witnessed a racist incident? Would you report it if you did? Would you feel reluctant about reporting a racist incident for fear that your complaint would not be taken seriously?
So today we are asking, have you ever reported a racist incident?
