MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE Simon Coveney has sharply criticised companies involved in the horsemeat controversy for their bad practices.

An official government investigation has found a range of problems at meat-producing companies, from mislabelling products to withholding information about meat contaminated with horse DNA. The Minister said the companies involved risk causing reputational damage to Ireland’s food sector.

A large number of companies and products have been implicated since horsemeat was first discovered in beef products in January.

So today we’re asking: Are you still happy to eat Irish beef?

Poll Results:

Yes, but I'm a little more cautious because of the horsemeat scandal (1339)
Yes, I haven't changed the amount I buy/eat (618)
No, I'm not buying/eating Irish beef for the time being (618)
