IRISH WATER IS back in the news today for a number of reasons.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said last night that Fine Gael would be willing to talk about repealing water charges in order to form a new government.

Elsewhere, the Irish Times reports that abolishing Irish Water could cost the taxpayer up to €7 billion over five years, according to internal estimates by the utility.

Sinn Féin, Fianna Fáil and most of the smaller parties have all committed to getting rid of charges in one way or another in their pre-election manifestos.

So, what do you think: Should we abolish water charges?
