ACTIVISTS AT THE Occupy Dame Street protest camp have been asked to pack up and leave before the St Patrick’s Day parade through Dublin.

Gardaí requested that the camp be dismantled for the festival on March 17, which traditionally sees thousands of people pack the city centre.

But the group have told authorities that they will not be moving from their position on Central Bank plaza, the Sunday Independent reports today.

So what do you think? Should the Occupy Dame Street camp pack up for St Patrick’s Day?

Poll Results:

Yes, it should vacate the plaza permanently (2142)
No, it should stay put (1722)
Yes, but it could be rebuilt after the Patrick's Day weekend (507)
I don't know (129)
