Where will you go? Genuine question, are there realistic alternatives?

Permenant TSB don’t do fees as king as you lodge €1500 a month. Moving to them from BOI when BOI eventually take my student account away.

We are dumping BOI and moving to PTSB. The reintroduction of fees was going to cost us over 200 euro per year. Well done PTSB on seizing the opportunity

I’ll probably go with Danske Bank myself, did some research last year and found it was a better option for me. That said, things may have changed in the meantime so I’ll have to look up their charges etc again.

They do charge fees, but personally I dont mind that too much if I’m getting a good service. With AIB, I suddenly found I was paying a lot in charges with no change in service.

nca dot ie is a very helpful site for comparing banks, credit cards, loans etc.

The problem with PTSB is that they are up the creek as well. Any reader of Phoenix magazine will tell you that.

@Scarr Yes, they do. Banking with PTSB for year. Never had an issue with them. Thier cards are issues now as VIA debit too so can be used online also.

PTSB really? This letter applies as much to them as AIB or indeed any other bank that’s been insitue in Ireland over the past decade

Im with PTSB. Shower of arseholes too. I disputed a bill with Meteor, cancelled my DD, informed PTSB to not accept another request, however they did and it was costing me 10 euro each time when the DD was rejected as I deliberately didn lodge money.

In the end I resorted to quoting law to prevent them from accepting the mandate request which in turn when requested puts my account into overdraft even when its empty. They maintained they where doing me a favour by allowing it go into overdraft for another DD which was 13 quid; at one stage I was 31 cent short, that cost me a tenner as well. I dont need their favours.

Customer service with PTSB is shocking..
