Wasn’t arming the Syrian rebels one of the factors that gave rise to IS in the first place? And is arming one bunch of super judicial vigilantes against another not an oxymoronic way to deal with such groups? Think people can handle the truth – they will arm anyone who is anti Assad and then blow them off the face of the earth once Assad is gone.

    Maybe it’s about arms sales?

What gave rise to ISIS was Geroge Bush and Dick Cheney going in and kicking over the ant hill in the first place, had they not stuck their nose in removing Saddam and Gaddafi and Mubrak and tried, as usual, to play God, none of this would be happening.

Of course it’s about arms sales. One central thing you need to understand about American politics is this: $$$$$$$$$ is in charge, not the American people. Because of a series of intentional misinterpretations and in some cases outright fraud, their legal system has interpreted the law to say money = speech. That has meant no limits on campaign cash, and with no public financing it’s damn expensive to get elected. So the lobbyists look after that, and expect to be paid back in contracts.
They’re cheap too, a recent analysis done showed a 10k donation can get you a multi million dollar contract easily. THey are cheaper than a high class hooker in terms of what you get for your money.

The Russia / Ukraine thing not so much, that’s more geo political, the NATO – Russia balance, these arms dealers want small regional conflicts that make them rich, not massive third world wars that might get the city they live in nuked.

Every questioni n US politics and policy, if you want to make an accurate prediction ask what side is the money on , and you’ll be right 9 times out of 10.

Not sure about that Ryan. If I was paying 10k for a hooker I would expect a lot, and I mean a lot, in return!

I’m talking about the ratio of what you pay to what you get not the raw amount.

These are multi billion dollar companies, and to pay a few thousand and get what they get it’s the equivalent of you and me paying a 10er and getting a mansion
