it is the being groped by unknown hands while sheltering from the rain in a shop doorway at fifteen, being sexually abused by your brother for three years as a teen, being raped by your husband/being beaten by your wife, being assaulted severely by a drunken much stronger male date, having a man put his hand up your skirt while selling raffle tickets for charity in a rural pub while his wife stands beside him because he knows you can do nothing because you’re ‘the blow in’. it is the rushing into your house and locking the door quickly behind you because you’ve been warned that ‘they’ were talking in the pub about following you home. having a friend’s husband banging on your windows in the middle of the night, luckily your son was there to tell him to f**k off. and everyone telling you to be quiet, it will only cause trouble, nobody will believe you anyway. how about them apples?
