TD’s owning shares in financial institutions and banks is a clear conflict of interest in light of what has happened to this country.

I cannot believe I have thumbs down for this comment. Some people are really stupid!! If they can’t see the massive conflict of interest of TD’s having shares in the banks, then we are really in trouble when the TD’s get to vote on supporting the banks when they ask for their next bailout!!

People who have an inherited allegiance to political parties have a certain skill in ignoring stories against their own.

Sure don’t we all have a few shares in the banks – seeing as we own AIB and TSB, and 14% of BOI?

About 5 years ago I started parking in an AIB car park when attending Leinster matches in the RDS. When I was pulled up by a security guard I told him that as a taxpayer I was an owner of the bank. He thought that was reasonable :-)
