The waiter served both men in the nearby bar earlier in the night. He heard them talk about swimming across the Yarra and warned them of the dangers. He later heard tham call out for help & jumped in (as well as some others) & got one of them out, The other had already sunk, so he couldn’t see him to try & get him out. Saw the waiter interviewed in the news about 1 hr ago. He has been nominated for a bravery award.

By the way they say here in Melbourne that the Yarra is the colour that it is cos it flows up side down. Extremly murky, be impossible to see anything.
