Practically every town in this country is awash, along its Main Street, with off licences and not to mention Bookies shops. At most times of the day you see the ‘boys’ strolling out of the pub and into the bookies to spend our- taxpayers- hard earned money, to fund their drinking (and gambling) habits. It’s no coincidence that we have such a massive alcohol – and gambling (yes, i know you will say much of it is online stuff, but those shops wouldn’t exist if they weren’t making a profit… ) problem. So get real and stop the blasé, laissez faire attitude to real and substantial issues in our society…
P.s. My comments, and I suspect those of others, have absolutely nothing to do with whether I go to mass or drink or who I might vote for… Nothing ; so stay with the issue and stop the ranting “off the point”.
