Most of our current politicans only exist to serve themselves and their wealthly sponsors. The needs of the citizen at large are unimportant unless they impede politicans personally profiting. We vote in parasites and in return we receive the wrong public policy. Sadly we as a nation don’t actually punish the political establishment for screwing us. We reward them with life long guaranteed pensions. If I had it my way all of ff/fg/lab would be hanging in smith field. A spring clean would send a clear message. Unfortunately we’re just too soft as a nation to take that bold step.

The Smithfield spring clean would leave us with no replacements. We the public need to write the mandate for the next government and sack them if they don’t deliver it within agreed specified periods. We need to recruit from the private sector where CEO’s CFO’s of big companies must spend a term helping restructure the way we conduct our politics. The likes of Fergal Quinn, Michael o Leary, Brendan Murtagh and so on.
