We don’t have a right wing party in Ireland. Our so called “right wing” have attained a homelessness of less than 300 people and a dole payment off the scale. They are really the recalibrated Middle left. Try living in the USA if you have the balls for it…

We pay our right wingers the same as our left wingers. More likely the left wingers haven’t got a clue about finance, hence left wing economic policy.

Bertie was once minister for finance and he didn’t know how to open a bank account.

@Gavin Scott That’s 3000 homeless, not 300. And, it’s almost as if you guys were handed an A4 page of bulleted points to/not to discuss in this type of forum.

    * Don’t mention the spiralling suicide rate.
    * Don’t mention the spiralling repossession of people’s homes and subsequent evictions.
    * Don’t mention the betrayal of almost every single pre election promise.
    * Don’t mention the fire sale of our assets.
    * Don’t mention the shady legality of the granting of the Irish Water, and other, contracts.
    * Don’t mention how the Irish people were lied to about the Bank Guarantee Scheme.
    * Don’t mention the evisceration of the Health Service.
    * Don’t mention the €billions collected in extra VAT and car tax levies to pay for our water.
    * Don’t mention the obscene amount of our money thrown at IW without a single pipe being fixed.
    * Don’t mention the misuse of the gardai as paid enforcers of a private company.
    * Don’t mention the inflated salaries and expenses of our TDs.
    * DO mention that the dole payments have been maintained but ..
    * Don’t mention that the telephone allowance for older people has been scrapped.
    * Don’t mention that the Bereavement Grant has been discontinued.
    * Don’t mention that Maternity Benefit has been cut for almost 24000 women and increased for 275.
    * Don’t mention that the threshold for Illness benefit has been increase from 3 to 6 days.

But hey, if you’re lucky enough to be on the dole, you’re rolling in it!

Fine Gael mid left? Why, of course they are. And Noonan is pumping his personal money into supporting the euro.
