Or in other words, before fine gael get crushed next election once the full extent of the family home and water taxes hit people, they’re taking whats left in the pension reserve fund and handing it out via tenders to the developers who switched their donations from fianna fail to fine gael prior to the last election.

    @werejammin

    That news of the Limerick ‘renewal’ stunt smells of the same payback to developers as well.

    Yawn. So yeah, let’s just leave that money there doing nothing instead of putting it to good use.

    If Fine Gaels primary purpose for using this money is to create jobs and invest in infrastructure, why didn’t they do it as soon as they got into power?

    Jim Walsh,
    That money is paying people’s state pensions. It’s not like it’s doing nothing.

    Werejammin, I think you guess tight. For all the shortcomings of the last bunch of bums, they had at least built up a pension reserve fund of 21 billion before the ordure hit the air conditioning. Under the current regime we will now be truly potless. Well done FG and Labour. Who the bell I’d like you?

    Your idea of good use and ours seems to be very different.. Use the money yes but not like that. We have all been there, done that and have the tee-shirts and look at us now . Fresh thinking is required and the people in power and those before them are certainly not fresh thinkers.
