there needs to be a facility for the ordinary joe soap to nominate somebody and get them on the ballot. theres some amount of interest in gemma o doherty as a candidate, and she is being ignored by the councils. if she doesnt get on the ballot it will just show how out of touch the process is

@Ian McNally: touched in the head about callinan having his penalty points scrubbed, that turned out to be true.

touched in the head about the 12 foot blood stained gate going missing in a murder trial, that GSOC had to admit to

touched in the head about mary boyle, that a retired garda sergeant confirmed later

theres a pattern of the powers that be calling her a loon, and then she turns out to be right

@We Love Katamari: We might be able to take her a little more seriously were it not doe the fact that she refuses point blank to respond to any questioning of her, whether or be from journalists, members of the public or even councillors who are considering her for a nomination. How can anybody be expectes to even assess her worthiness as a candidate, if she shuts down every attempt to ask her anything?

@Clifford Brennan: And what stories has the likes of Clifford sat on? Who or what has he challenged? BTW it is not just O’Doherty that has serious issues with the West Cork Gardai – the Attorney General for one, the courts for another. Why wheel out a dinosaur like Clifford to grind his axe? he certainly gave FF/FG/Labour and the like a free ride.

@Austin Rock: Is he grinding an axe or just outling what GO’D has been saying. She refuses to answer questions, and has been threatening legal action against some of her interviewers. She makes claims about the state, then says she has zero evidence. You want a nomination expect questions. You dont want to give answers then don’t expect much support. There is no divine right to candidacy. She has advised others to get involved in politics to affect change – she herself says its a waste of time.
