The day after a dog died on a plane they introduced new legislation to prevent it happening again. Dog welfare is more important to Republicans than child welfare in schools.

@Daisy Chainsaw: Preventing a dog or dogs from dying on a plane and the removal of the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution are hardly comparable.
There are plenty of Federal and State laws in the US that bar all sorts of people from owning a gun. They are not enforced.
Passing more and more legislation may make people feel good but it won’t make a blind bit of difference in a country that is already awash with guns.
The lefts knee jerk emotional responses to key issues make them look and sound like children.

@Will: so the moral of your tale is do what you can to save dogs on planes but don’t even attempt to help kids in schools? I wonder would you feel the same if you or your kids were in a school and a mentally deranged man was roaming the halls with an automatic gun built for war.

@Deborah Behan: That’s not what he said.

It is easy to stop dogs being put in an overhead bin.

Bringing in legislation to prevent school shooters is much more difficult. They have been trying to get guns banned for decades. This is not the fist school shooting. How do you prevent the next one? Mind you, the NRA are heavily funded and have massive support in government.

But people have been trying. You make it sound like nobody ever said a thing about it.
