This ignoramous knows nothing “Segregated schooling leads to gender stereotyping” this serial loser at the polls is desparate to stay “relevant” to his parties dwindling constituency. My daughter went to a same sex school, brilliant education, wionderful sports person, flying in college. The school a religious order has an openly gay chaplan, girls of all genders are catered for. The problem is this clown has been years away from the education system and has never visited or engaged with a same sex school – in otherwords his opinion is just that – his opinion. Same sex schools are good for girls it empowers women. Unlike the Deis mixed school my son went to in which bullying was enshrined.

Can any of us genuinely argue that separating girls and boys in schools is a practice worth defending, asks Aodhán Ó Ríordáin.

@Austin Rock: Bullying is a fact in all schools unless the school management stamps it out. It is also prevalent amongst the teachers. It has nothing to do with gender seperation.
