Ireland’s vacant social housing

New statistics, released under a Freedom of Information request, show there are over 2,751 vacant housing units owned by local authorities around the country, including 372 in Dublin alone.  The empty homes have been criticised as ‘unacceptable’ given Ireland’s housing crisis.

Families face eviction in Dublin 

A number of families in council-owned houses in north county Dublin may face eviction as they are not able to pay their rent – but are also not able to receive rent supplement.
