Here's the average price of a home in Stillorgan in 2018

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Stillorgan and neighbouring Deansgrange is now over €570,000 – up almost nine per cent in the last year.

Analysis by Daft.ie across all properties listed in the two neighbourhoods in the first three months of 2018 puts the average advertised price at €570,530.

This puts Stillorgan in the top 20 areas of the capital by average property price. It is roughly on a par with neighbouring Churchtown, with prices slightly lower than Clonskeagh closer into town.

Average asking prices in Stillorgan remain significantly lower than in neighbourhoods to the east along the coast. Daft.ie puts the equivalent figure for Blackrock at €617,221, with Foxrock to the south an eye-watering €818,264.

However they have risen significantly over the last two years – up by 5.7 per cent in 2016 and 8.8 per cent in 2017.

Prices across Stillorgan and Deansgrange have some way to go before matching their Celtic Tiger peak – the average hit €786,000 in 2006. During the recession in 2012 it dipped to a low of €333,000.
